- color: the discerning gent wears gray undershirts instead of white, as they will blend in against almost any skin tone, and will therefore not be visible under your white dress shirts... or any other shirts for that matter
- neckline: a v-neck, not a crew-neck, is a must-wear beneath any open collared shirt; otherwise your underwear will be showing (gasp)
